Wretched Things Just Turned a Breakup Into a Wall of Sound With "Letting Go" And It's Impossible to Ignore

There's a specific kind of quiet that happens right before someone finally stops fighting for a relationship that was never fighting back. That's the space Wretched Things carve into with "Letting Go" a heavy, hook-driven track out of New London, Texas that trades in the exhausting math of loving someone who's already checked out.

The track doesn't dress up the pain. "I wait for you to be there / You don't care" opens the song with the kind of blunt honesty that anyone who's stayed too long in a one-sided relationship will recognize immediately. From there, Wretched Things build toward the release the whole song is aimed at that moment of finally folding, leaving your heart on the floor, and walking away for good.

Musically, the track leans into the heavy-riff-meets-melodic-clarity approach that's defined modern metal and metalcore's most enduring anthems, pairing aggressive dynamics with a chorus built to be shouted back. It's a breakup song for people who are done being quiet about it.

"Letting Go" is about recognizing when the care has stopped being mutual and having the strength to stop waiting for it to come back.

Biography

Forged in the backroads of East Texas, Wretched Things is a nu-metal trio where brotherhood meets brutality. Raised on a shared, hard-lived past, the band channels metalcore’s ferocity into a sound that is heavier, rawer, and more visceral. Driven by guttural down-tuned riffs and atmospheric tension, their music lurches from crushing breakdowns to sharp, melodic hooks. Lyrically, they weaponize inner conflict and religious imagery, turning personal betrayal into anthems of self-reflection. This isn't just aggressive music, it's lived-in, uncompromising, and loud.
