FREQUENCY OVERLOAD is baring their soul with the upcoming release of "SUNBURN," a deeply personal anthem that traces a harrowing true-life story of loss, addiction, and an unwavering promise kept across thirty-seven years.

The track documents the band's frontman at age eighteen, poised to begin a new life in Brooklyn with his brother Robert by his side, until a car accident in the summer of 1987 shattered everything. What followed was a dark descent into substance abuse and suicidal despair, as grief took hold and the world "melted into sepia hatred and injustice."

But amidst the wreckage emerged a singular purpose: finding Robert's unborn son, a child the family had lost touch with amid prejudice and fractured relationships. "I decided, no matter what my parents said...this was the last vestige of my Brother," the frontman recalls. The search, however, would prove nearly impossible for a man drowning in addiction.

The years that followed brought even more devastation, the passing of his father, his brother John, and eventually his mother and two other siblings, all within a matter of months. Yet through the darkness, the memory of that lost nephew never faded. As the lyrics confess, "the day I named my son for you I stepped away from hate."

Then, in 2024, a miracle arrived: after decades of searching, Robert's son was finally found. The song's closing lines capture the moment of redemption" I finally found your son, another man was named for you and the two of them have met, and I have kept my promise that I would not forget."

The title "SUNBURN" speaks to the permanent nature of grief, scars that live beneath the surface, never fully healing, but becoming part of who we are. As the chorus hauntingly declares, "it's just like sunburn, but on the inside, it cannot be healed through, and I wouldn't want to."
